AML & KYC Policy
Last Updated: June 14, 2026
Effective Date: June 14, 2026
1Purpose and Scope
This Anti-Money Laundering and Know-Your-Customer Policy (the "AML/KYC Policy") describes the risk-based controls Algonney applies to detect, prevent, and report money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, and other financial crime across the Platform. It supplements, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Use.
Algonney is automation and analytics software. For connected exchange accounts, Algonney does not take custody of your assets — funds remain in your own exchange accounts, and API keys are restricted to read and trade permissions only. Where the Platform offers internal wallet balances, deposits, withdrawals, Algonney Pay, or token purchases, those flows are subject to the controls described below and to the Wallet & Payment Terms.
2Risk-Based Approach
We apply a risk-based approach proportionate to the financial-crime risk presented by a user, transaction, jurisdiction, payment method, or counterparty. Risk factors include declared and detected country, transaction size and velocity, deposit and withdrawal patterns, device and IP signals, payment method, blockchain address reputation, and prior conduct. Higher-risk activity attracts enhanced scrutiny, additional verification, lower limits, or refusal of service.
3Customer Identification & Verification (KYC)
At account creation you provide account information and self-attest your country of residence and your legal eligibility to use the Platform. Identity verification (KYC) may be requested at any time and may be required before, among others: withdrawals, reward payouts, tournament prize settlement, and large or unusual deposits.
Where verification is required, you may be asked to provide government-issued identification, proof of address, proof of source of funds, liveness/selfie checks, or other documentation through an approved verification provider. We may re-verify your identity periodically or upon a change in risk.
Until any required verification is completed and approved, protected actions may be blocked, delayed, or limited, and your account may be restricted. Providing false, altered, or stolen identification is prohibited and may result in immediate termination and reporting.
4Sanctions & Prohibited Persons Screening
We screen users, devices, IP addresses, payment methods, exchange account metadata, blockchain addresses, and counterparties against applicable sanctions lists, including those administered by OFAC, the EU, the UN, and other competent authorities. You may not use the Platform if you are sanctioned, located in or ordinarily resident in a comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction, or acting on behalf of a sanctioned person.
Comprehensively restricted jurisdictions include, without limitation, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, and any region restricted by OFAC, EU, or UN sanctions. See our Restricted Jurisdictions page for how geographic restrictions are applied.
5Transaction Monitoring
We monitor account activity, internal wallet deposits and withdrawals, reward accrual and payouts, and payment events for indicators of money laundering, fraud, structuring, market abuse, stolen funds, or sanctions evasion. We may delay, hold, reject, reverse, freeze, or require additional verification for any transaction, and may apply velocity limits, cooling-off periods, or manual review. Internal ledger and system records control over previously displayed, cached, or exported figures.
6Crypto-Asset Transfers & the Travel Rule
Where Algonney facilitates crypto-asset transfers through internal wallet or Algonney Pay features, such transfers may be subject to information-sharing obligations applicable to virtual-asset service providers (commonly known as the "Travel Rule," reflecting FATF Recommendation 16 and equivalent local laws). Where applicable, we may collect, verify, retain, and transmit originator and beneficiary information for qualifying transfers, and may decline transfers that we cannot screen or that lack required information.
7Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
Higher-risk situations — including large transactions, high-risk jurisdictions, politically exposed persons, unusual patterns, or adverse media — may trigger Enhanced Due Diligence. EDD may include additional identity and source-of-funds verification, senior review, ongoing enhanced monitoring, reduced limits, or refusal or termination of the relationship.
8Reporting & Cooperation with Authorities
Where required or reasonably appropriate, we may file reports (including suspicious activity reports) with competent authorities, respond to lawful requests, and cooperate with law enforcement and regulators. We may be legally prohibited from notifying you that a report has been made or that your activity is under review ("tipping off"). We may freeze funds, suspend access, or block transactions to comply with legal obligations.
9Record-Keeping
We retain identification data, verification results, transaction records, screening results, and related logs for the periods required by applicable law and for legitimate business, audit, and legal purposes, even after account closure. Handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
10Consequences of Non-Compliance
Failure to complete requested verification, providing false information, or engaging in prohibited activity may result in restricted access, withheld or reversed transactions, frozen balances, forfeiture of rewards, account suspension or termination, and reporting to authorities. Restrictions imposed for legal or compliance reasons are not a breach of our obligations to you.
11Your Obligations
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information; use the Platform only for lawful purposes; not use VPNs, proxies, false residency declarations, or other means to evade geographic, sanctions, or verification controls; and respond promptly to verification and security requests. You must not use the Platform to launder funds, finance terrorism, evade sanctions, or facilitate any unlawful activity.
